Unipress
:
Cultivation for light to medium soils
Simba's Unipress is a rugged cultivator/press for use on light and medium soils. It performs three operations in one pass, helping complete cultivations effectively while saving both time and money.
The machine features leading tines which cultivate and create a tilth ahead of the full width, fully-adjustable levelling board which further works the soil and either smashes clods or aligns them ahead of the large diameter 700mm DD Rings (in the arrangement used in the Cultipress and patented by Simba).
The rings crush them and leave a well cultivated, consolidated and weatherproof seedbed which is usually ready for drilling with no further cultivation. Simba now offers its ProActive tines as standard for the Unipress. These are mounted on a 150mm x 12mm sprung leaf which offers greater vibration and cultivation, while also protecting them against damage by stones etc by enabling them to trip out of the soil and re-set in work immediately.
The range runs from the 4.2m model that requires around 100hp to operate, up to the 10m model that needs 350hp - 400hp, so there is a model suitable for all farm sizes.
The working depth of the tines is independently adjustable, so those running in the wheeltracks can be set deeper to lift out any compaction without compromising the efficacy of the overall cultivation. Should further consolidation be required a rear drawbar can be fitted to tow a Cambridge Roll or similar tool (not available on the 10m model). The 10m version of the Unipress which was launched comes fitted with 500/50x17 tyres.
