X-Press
:
High speed, one pass cultivation
The X-Press is a high-speed one-pass cultivator designed to work at up to 100mm depth. It chops and mixes straw and stubble very effectively in reduced tillage systems, but is equally adept at working down ploughing.
In both scenarios it leaves a well cultivated, levelled, consolidated and weatherproof seedbed which is usually ready for drilling with a cultivator drill.
The implement features two gangs of 500mm discs running ahead of a single line of Simba's DD press rings or DD Lite . The discs chop and mix straw/stubble. Uniquely among such cultivators, the disc angles on the X-Press can be adjusted from 10 - 25 degrees to maintain penetration without transferring weight off the rear roller. The technique used by many competitor machines which can seriously reduce the consolidation the press achieves.
The smallest model, the 3m Mounted X-press, comes with all the innovative features of the larger models but in a smaller machine. Fully adjustable gang angling and the unique DD Lite rear roller deliver the right balance between penetration and consolidation to give you the maximum flexibility to work on stubble or ploughing. With a power requirement of around 80hp, many more farms can now benefit from Simba’s innovative products.
Narrow or shallow gang angles are used when chopping down ploughing. Wider gang angles are employed when more of a mixing and levelling operation is required, for example incorporating stubble.
The discs are mounted on Simba's Pro-Active Disc Unit, which offers optimum protection against stone damage by enabling the discs to trip right out of the ground and automatically re-set to the desired working depth. This also minimises downtime and optimises output. Working widths are from 3m and 4m mounted models which need 80hp - 100hp, to 4.6m (140-150hp), 5.5m (160-180hp), 6.6m (200-220hp), 8.0m (300-350) and 10m (350-400) models.
All trailed models are fitted with 500/50x17 tyres and a rear drawbar is offered as an option for following implements such as Cambridge Rolls (not available on the 8 & 10m versions).
