Burdens Golf & Turf Team up with the Pilgrims
13 Aug 2007
Boston United and The Burdens Group have announced a new business link-up, which has seen the Pilgrims take delivery of state-of-the-art machinery for the upkeep of their Staffsmart Stadium playing surface.
The venture has been struck to enable the Pilgrims to keep their pitch in top condition for the rigours of Coca-Cola League Two football and Burdens will have a continual presence within the stadium, with four advertising hoardings now proudly positioned on the club’s floodlight towers.
Reflecting on the link-up, Pilgrims’ general manager and secretary John Blackwell said: “It is a tremendous gesture from Norman Burden and all his staff and it allows Nobby Croston and the groundstaff to maintain the playing surface to a high standard."
“The state of our pitch has increased dramatically over recent seasons and this new venture will allow us to continue that trend for the foreseeable future. It will ensure that we can keep the pitch tidy and any extra renovations now needed can be carried out in-house, rather than employing outside contractors.”
The founding philosophy of the Burdens Group was to provide quality machinery supported by a quality service. Established in 1972, the group’s activities have now expanded to include an extensive agricultural dealership, a specialist importation business and dedicated groundcare and hire divisions.
Burdens Groundcare and Turfleet Hire, which specialise in groundcare equipment, offer an extensive range of groundcare machinery from many top manufacturers such as John Deere, Echo, Dennis and Timberwolf.
As specialists in the groundcare maintenance market, Burdens has a reputation for customer care and professionalism, unrivalled within the industry.
